Die Künstlerin srtzt sich in ihrem Oevre intensiv mit Mithras auseinander. Sie kontrastiert in ihren Skulpturen, Installationen und Bildern den römischen Mysterienkult mit modernen Gedanken und Fragestellungen, wagt individuelle Interpretationen und initiiert somit einen Dialog zwischen Antike und Gegenwart.

In the context of what’s promising to be an impressive archaeological exhibition about the deities of ancient Rome: “Imperium der Götter: Isis – Mithras – Christus. Kulte und Religionen im Römischen Reich” the Badisches Landemuseum in Karlsruhe will feature a section about the cults’ ‘effective histories’ and their contemporary reception.
The 5-lithographs-portfolio from Farangis Yegane’s FOR EXAMPLE MITHRAS I series of works will be part of that segment in the museum exhibit.
